L’Enseignement Français à L’Etranger
Mission
FAST promotes cultural awareness and diversity, literacy and broad intellectual development in the community, and supports socially sustainable urban communities, through after-school foreign language education for children, and at first through French language, from Kindergarten to Middle School.
Objectives:
· To offer French language teaching as an after-school program to French speaking children or proficient in French, children who attend American schools.
· To offer French as a foreign language (FLE)
· To improve French language skills and keep a connection with French culture.
· To use as educational support, the Cned (Centre national d’Education à Distance), strong after-school program designed by the French Ministry of Education, chosen for the quality of the material (clarity of the instructions and corrections done by teachers back in France).
· To regroup children of the same level into a mini-class room (2 to 4 children) in order to learn with motivation and enjoy the dynamism and fun of being part of a group.
· To hire local teachers/tutors for professional tutoring of French courses
